An abbriviated timeline

January 3rd, 2014 approximately 2pm: Christy has just started a new job at Natural Grocers and is introduced to Jesse in his office. They say “Hi” and look each other in the eye from about 3 feet away.

November 6th, 2014, 11:35am: Jesse and Christy have been joking over email for months. He tells her to apply for a job opening in his department so she can bring him coffee every day. Direct quote from Christy, “bringing you coffee everyday sounds like my dream job!”. At the time, she thought she was being sarcastic and charming. 

2015: Christy gets new job and now works across the hall from Jesse. Christy makes excuses to talk to him because being in the same room is energizing. Jesse looks Christy right in the eyes all the time. Christy tries to convince herself he does this to everyone.

April 2016: Jesse joins Christy and other Natural Grocers friends for various different dinners and outings. Jesse meets Calli and they play fetch. Jesse take a week off of work and Christy decides she doesn't like it when he's not around.

May 13th, 2016: After a particularly terrible Friday at work, everyone has left the office but Jesse and Christy. They decide to go have a beer at a local establishment, the first time they've ever been alone together. Jesse bets Christy she doesn’t remember the first time they met. She does. They hug.

May 19th, 2016: Christy and Jesse decide they will just take this slow since they are both recently out of long relationships. They decide to go for pizza in Olde Town Arvada. At some point over pizza that no one ate and beers no one drank, Christy realizes this is her husband.

May 2016-July 2017: Christy and Jesse do not take it slow. Jesse meets Bobby and Sarah (brother and sis-in-law) within a week of dating. Bobby, unprompted, knows he’s just met Christy’s husband. Jesse tells Christy in June 2016 he knows how he will propose when the time comes. They do lots of traveling and hiking and spend time with family and new friends and laugh and cry and deepen smile lines.

July 16th, 2017: Jesse and Christy set out to hike a 14-thousand foot mountain, and Jesse jokes all day about proposing because he knows Christy is getting anxious. Christy thinks Jesse is joking even when he digs something out of the bottom of his backpack….turns out, he wasn’t joking and gives her the perfect vintage engagement ring, which she barely sees until hours later from shock and excitement.
